Cooling modern data centres
Modern server equipment can operate reliably at higher supply air temperatures of approximately 23 to 27°C. This allows free cooling to be used during a large part of the year. PCM acts as a thermal buffer that absorbs temperature fluctuations and reduces the load on the cooling system. The result is a more stable temperature, reduced use of mechanical cooling and lower energy consumption.
Autarkis provides PCM solutions for various types of server rooms and data centres:
- Small server rooms – approximately 5 m² floor area and 5 to 12 kW installed IT capacity.
- Medium-sized data centres – 10 to 100 m² floor area and 12 to 100 kW installed IT capacity.
- Large data centres – from 100 m² floor area and more than 100 kW installed IT capacity.
For larger data centres, we develop customised solutions together with specialised partners, integrating PCM into a future-proof cooling concept.
The benefits of PCM for data centres
- Free cooling whenever outdoor temperatures allow.
- Exceptionally high energy efficiency (EER up to 66, depending on the application).
- Reliable and low-maintenance cooling solution.
- Stable temperature and relative humidity.
- Compact plug-and-play solution with 230V connection.
- Suitable for small to medium-sized data centres.
- Supply and installation, including any required building modifications.**
