Royal FloraHolland Aalsmeer: a leading PCM project
Some projects perfectly demonstrate the power of innovative climate solutions. The Royal FloraHolland project in Aalsmeer is an excellent example of this. In the renovated office building, Autarkis PCM technology was applied on a large scale to create a comfortable, energy-efficient and future-proof indoor climate.
By using Phase Change Materials (PCM), thermal energy is temporarily stored when temperatures rise and released again when temperatures decrease. This naturally absorbs temperature fluctuations, reducing the need for active cooling. The result is a more stable indoor climate, lower energy consumption and reduced CO₂ emissions.
For Royal FloraHolland, customised PCM induction units and PCM climate ceiling systems were applied. Thanks to this solution, the building benefits from a more efficient and sustainable climate system every day, without compromising user comfort. The project is considered one of the largest PCM applications in an office building and highlights the potential of smart climate solutions within commercial buildings.
At Autarkis, we are proud to contribute to sustainable buildings where comfort, energy performance and innovation come together through our PCM technology. Projects such as Royal FloraHolland demonstrate that sustainable climate solutions not only support the energy transition but also deliver direct value for building users.
